Our developer is really such a great guy - you just gotta love him! When I talked with him on the phone about putting a water tank in next, he mentioned that he has a spare tank (2100 litres/466 gallons) and that we can either borrow it, or buy it for half price. Wow - what a great offer! Of course, we agreed, and Scott even went up and delivered the tank on a Thursday (sadly, I had to work and couldn't be there to take photos). We have had pretty strong winds up there recently, and these tanks have the "habit to fly" (as Scott put it), so he even wired it to the bach. On Friday evening we went up and there it was - even exactly in the place we wanted it to be :) All I had to do is cut the downpipe from the spouting, buy some additional piping and elbows, and direct it into the tank - easy! Then, I put a tap in at the bottom, and connected a hose. Now, all we need is
rain - and plenty of it! Funny that is - we always pray for sun when we go up (and we have been lucky and had plenty of it), and now we want as much rain as possible, so that the tank fills for summer...
I forgot my camera at home this weekend, so all I had was my Blackberry to take some (crappy quality) pics...
The tank behind the bach, with the redirected downpipe already in place. You can also see a fern and a tree I planted the week before.
The tap and hose. I quickly made the box out of scrap wood - just to protect the tap against accidental stepping on/against it...

The next thing on our endless to-do-list was the skirting for the deck. We saw these wooden borders at the hardware stores, intended to be borders for flowerbeds or lawns. They are rolls with about 50 slats wired together, and are perfect as skirting for our deck. We managed to fit the first half, and will do the next one when we go up next time...
Neil being all handy-man, using power tools...;-)
The other great news are that the developer expects the title to come through within the next couple of weeks - finally!
